is this normal to keep feeling like this

  • Hi Doreen

Is it anything in particular worrying you at the moment?

Do you feel that it is to do with your previous cancer or is it something else that is upsetting you?

It can be hard to deal with cancer and I know that it can take time for things to feel more manageable.

Whilst it is normal to face a whole range of emotions I would urge you to talk to someone if you are finding it hard to find any pleasure in life at the moment. You are welcome to give the Support Line a call in the morning. If you need to speak to someone before then perhaps consider giving your crisis line a call.

Do you have family support or friends around you? Sometimes just having a cuppa and a chat can help.

What do you think helped you before when you were feeling like this? For example, when I was struggling during chemo I would try and take a short walk outside in the fresh air- I didn't feel like doing it, it was hard to do sometimes but I would feel better afterwards if I did.

  • still feel scared at times iv not long wake up from a nightmare about being in hospital being in a well chair  with a drip and i was other people it seemed i waz back again

  • Maybe the dreams are a way of processing your journey. Are you having regular check ups? I was seen every 12 weeks for 2 years and always found I slept badly around check up times. I still have times I sleep badly now- 4 years after surgery and 3 1/2 years after chemo and radiotherapy. In time it has become less. Support Line is open now if you feel like calling would help.

  • wow im sorry to hear that.

  • Hi Doreen. I'm sorry you have been having a scary time. I think it can take quite a while to get used to everything that's happened, I know it did for me. It's good that you are talking to people about your feelings. Sending best wishes.
