I am writing on behalf of my mum Tina who is 79 years old and has been told she needs a bilateral nephrostomy.
I know it’s a big ask but she would like to speak to someone who has had it done. She is very worried about the difficulty of day to day living after the procedure. It seems like a very complicated.
We have watched some videos on YouTube but speaking to someone directly would help.
She has breast cancer which has spread to the area around the womb which has created a blockage. She has stents which didn’t work.
She doesn’t have womb cancer but the community admin recommended I post here.

I am sorry to hear that your Mum needs a nephrostomy due to the spread of her breast cancer. I understand what a worrying time this must be for you both.
Hopefully someone who has had the procedure will respond to your post but in the meantime I will pop a link that may be of help.

I have had a quick look on the Online Community and it may well be worth looking in the Bladder cancer forum as it seems that there are people on there who have had the procedure.

It may also be worth giving the Support Line a call and talking to one of the nurses about the procedure and what can be expected. They are there 8am-8pm daily.
