Mon will be the last day of 5 weeks of radiotherapy..Its been tough I have to admit .I did the first week back and forth every day but then got admitted to carry on the rest ,just as well as I developed an abscess on my ovary so have been quite ill .3 weeks of antibiotics seem to have done the trick and feel a bit better now .My oncologist isn't going ahead with the chemo as he said the radiotherapy was the most important thing and been told I'm stage 3c1 and it's only to control it not cure it so I guess I too am living with cancer now .
I hadn't told my son's how bad but told them last week and that was a tough chat ,my youngest (24)took it the worst as he just lost his dad to cancer 3 years ago too and now fears losing me .It suddenly hit me then too that I'm not getting rid of it this time ( my 3rd time ,2 breast 1 womb) .
Hi Lozzap53
I remember the relief when I got to the last radiotherapy.
Well done- it is a tough thing to go through. Am sorry to hear about your abscess but am glad the antibiotics are finally kicking in.
Good luck for Monday and do give the Support Line a call if you need to talk things through. It can feel hard to tell family.
Jane
