So it looks like my surgery will happen in the next 2 weeks and my question is as I’m also having my ovaries removed during my hysterectomy I’m told I will get surgical menopause symptoms. I was lucky not to experience any symptoms during my normal menopause and was wondering how long I will have these symptoms for and how did anyone else feel after they had their own surgery? My surgeon didn’t seem to want me to go down the HRT route. Is anyone taking evening primrose and does it really help? Thanks x
It’s normal for those of us with endometrial cancer have everything removed when we have our hysterectomies. I was 62 when I had my op and never had any surgical menopause symptoms at all so I don’t think it’s a given. It’s usually when women haven’t gone through the menopause already I believe!
