Hi all, hope you're enjoying the sunny weather.
I am 56 and nearly 3 years post hysterectomy for stage 1 womb cancer.
I have been having a few issues since then and haven't really got many answers from my medical team, however it has now been suggested that I use eostrogen pessaries as a way to treat vaginal atrophy.
My cancer was eostrogen positive, however my consultant seems to think as it's been over 2 years I should be okay to use it but I'm a bit unsure about it, especially using hormones that were linked to my cancer. When I spoke to my CNS before seeing the consultant she didn't think they would recommend it.
I believe the dosage is very low and I'm willing to consider using them but just wondered whether any one here been in the same situation, and if so have you used these pessaries without any problems?
Many thanks
I was recommended these before I was diagnosed with EC! Just as well I didn't use them, considering my later diagnosis but your Consultant should know more about your individual medical history.
However, what I use now (for the dryness) is a daily intimate moisturiser (can't advertise obviously but it's well known!). I use it daily and it seems to work well, without the hormones, so maybe look at all the options before making a decision?
OK, thanks for that advice! I expect you've guessed the name anyway - It's REPLENS and seems to work very well....if used daily.
