So here I am - started immunotherapy and chemo on monday 24 feb this week - got through 5 hours and 2 hours later got hit with cramps , diarrhea and nausea!!
Nurses gave me meds to help but today Thursday still very wobbly.
Monday and Tuesday night had to have Pelgraz injection to prevent low white cell count and infection but causes horrible bone aches and pain - allergic to morphine and opiods so naproxen and paracetamol are my only pain options at the moment- any other suggestions.
3 days steroids so what I'm going to feel tomorrow I dread to think
I've also got ibs so all the meds are messing my stomach- all in all a great time being had!!!
Hi Half full cup
I am sorry to hear that you have been suffering with side effects from your treatment. I did not have immunotherapy but did have chemo. Mine was carboplatin and paclitaxel.
From my second cycle I was put on a tapering dose of steroids and it made a big difference. It may be worth asking if it would be suitable for you. My consultant explained that sometimes the sudden drop in steroids can affect some people and they can feel really unwell.
With the tummy effects-there are many different combinations of medication they can try and some work better than others for different people. It is worth keeping a note of different symptoms on different days ready for when you have your next review.
I hope you start to feel better soon.
Jane
