  • Hi Kitty04

I am sorry to hear that you are having some longer term after effects from your treatment. Everyone is different in their recovery from treatment and things like general health, age etc can all have an impact. Some people may find they recover more quickly whereas others can have lingering effects. Sometimes people can develop new effects at a later time.

I had surgery in April 2022 and that was followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

I still have some fatigue- unless I pace myself. I get lots of aches and pains. I have late effects from the radiotherapy that affects what I can eat- so that also has a knock on effect. I have peripheral neuropathy from the chemo. The neuropathy causes pain in my legs and hands/lower arms and also changes in sensation.

Are you still having any check ups or are you on patient led follow up? If you still have a CNS, I would consider contacting them and asking for some advice/reassurance.

Alternatively you could see your GP. I would be asking for a general check up, bloods etc, just to make sure everything is as it should and that these aches and pains and fatigue are just treatment effects.

  • OK thanks I have had bloods done everything seems OK was just wondering if anyone else was feeling it aswell 4 years on I'm sure I will get it sorted thanks again

  • I am almost 3 years post diagnosis and over 2 years post treatment and I still have effects. It has improved from the early days but still am affected. It is good your bloods are ok, hopefully it may be something that will improve with time.
