Had laparoscopic hysterectomy on 21st November. Hardly any vaginal bleeding after operation, but today bleeding, is this normal or something I should be worried about
Hi Grrr, are you sure you haven’t been overdoing things? It could also be as the internal stitches start to dissolve. If you’re concerned, I’d recommend calling your CNS.
Hi Grrr Welcome to the forum..I'm not sure about the bleeding especially as there has been none since the op.. I would be tempted to make contact with the surgical team and ask their advice. That said I feel sure some of the other lovely folks on here will be along soon to offer some information and support.
Hi Grr,
There should be a number to call on your hospital discharge papers and there will likely to be some info about bleeding. (and other possible things that may happen)
Sometimes bleeding can happen when we start to feel a bit better and do more and sometimes a little bleeding can happen when internal stitches dissolve. There can be other reasons. The amount is also important. Also whether there is any pain.
I would suggest giving the ward a call for some reassurance. For any heavy bleeding (soaking through a pad in an hour or with clotting) then this would suggest calling ward/GP/NHS 111 for immediate advice.
You are also welcome to give the Support Line a call and talk it through with one of the nurses.

I have this morning just noticed bleeding and came on forum to see if others had same experience when I came across your post. I wonder if you would mind sharing the outcome of your concerns and any view as to whether I need to contact hospital or not
I had laproscopic hysterectomy on 2 December and all has been well since then but noticed some blood when I wiped after wee this morning
Thank you
If you read Jane's reply above it will help guide you.
