Hi, I still have some very light pink spotting and it’s now a little over 6 weeks since my laparoscopic hysterectomy and I just wanted to check if any of you have also experienced this?
I saw the consultant for a follow up a week ago and he said it was healing so to give it another 1-2 weeks, so I’m not too concerned at this point, more irritated that I’m taking so long to heal internally (external wounds all fine) and just wondering how common this might be?
Many thanks!
Hi Vixxx
I didn't have this but it is reassuring that you were checked last week by your consultant.
Have you been very active/ lifting etc at any point? I wonder if that may have triggered it. Sometimes it can just take a bit longer to heal for some ladies. Sometimes there can be a bit of spotting as stitching dissolves for some ladies.
As you have been examined- I would not be too concerned- but if it persists or you have any fresh heavier bleeding then I would go back
Jane
Many thanks for sharing your experience Jane, I have been active but have been trying to be careful not to overdo it, especially avoiding lifting. I’ll give it another week or so and if it’s still there I’ll give the CNS a call for advice. I think I’m just being impatient but just wondered what other experiences were. Thanks again!
I remember reading that some ladies can get this when the internal stitches start to dissolve.
Thanks MarmiteFan59, to be honest it’s really not a lot and has been pretty consistent since just after my op. I’m just wondering when it will stop and if other people have found it’s taken this long…
Thanks again!
Hi Vixxx,
I had very light spotting to, it started around two weeks after my hysterectomy and went on until about 8 weeks after, I saw my surgeon for a follow up during this time and he wasn't concerned.
I've just reacted the five year date since my hysterectomy.
Many thanks Carolina61, good to know I’m not the only one! Your bio journey also looks very similar to mine. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
