I have been chasing a sick  note from my dr  from Dec 27 th and asked 4 times for it

they said it will be backdated but I need to send to work and not sure. How many more times  I need to ask the dr

anyone had these Problems with getting one

  • If you have online access to your GP surgery, you can request one online. For the first one they will want to discuss it with you.

    Good luck

  • I did that early Dec and spoke to dr but now I can't seem to get another one so easily

I'm go to dr this week and chase again

  • Hi mollysue

I did mine via online consultation.

I worked until the day of surgery.

The GP gave me one for initially 6 weeks to be reviewed.

I was told not to work during chemo/radiotherapy so I was given further ones. I never saw GP at all during my treatments but did it all on line. Due to needing time to recover and because of treatment side effects I am now taking time out from working so no longer need them.

I've been off since December 1 st as was so shocked but really I too should have carried on working to keep me busy in hindsight ( 2 days a week ) but now sure if I'll go back

    Hi

I think you did right in taking time out to look after yourself. I worked up to my surgery date and looking back, it wasn't the right decision. I was distracted and very stressed about cancer, the surgery and how quick I could get back to work after it. I shouldn't have put myself through that because as it happened things took an unexpected slant and I wasn't able to return. Look after number one is my mantra now, better late than never.
