You know one of the worst things is waiting for diagnosis, waiting for test results etc etc. I remember how much it was a whirlwind when i was diagnosed with womb cancer back in 2017. Now in 2023 i just found out i have sleep apnea although need another sleep study to confirm what treatment they well do but the wait is horrendous i be lucky to get another sleep study by New Year! But it’s how it is not great but still. I have had trouble including a night at the hospital with a UTI and for a while I haven’t really felt myself and recently had a few bleeds i thought were from the UTI i thought the pain was that too, until i had a bladder camera investigation and they found of red areas and where there had been a bleed that have nothing to do with the bladder or recent UTI, in-fact the bladder was really in good shape the medication i am on is definitely working for that, me being me kept thinking it has to be down to the recent UTI, i didn't want to believe its not, so after advice from the Doctor who did the camera investigation i went back to my Gp today, i am so sore and she decided it’s probably best i get referred back to my oncologist just to be sure of things. With me having a total hysterectomy they took everything and at 38 i was slammed into the surgical menopause so i expect there maybe some chances i know i have to live with but as my Gp said the bleed is now classed as a post menopause bleed and has to be investigated. My advice to all out there, don’t feel like your wasting anyone's time, they prefer that you get things checked out. Now i am on the two week emergency referral back to my gynae oncologist to see what they think. How do i feel well honestly i just want an answer is there something i am doing wrong, is there something i can do.
Hello GBear
I am so sorry to hear of everything that you are going through at the moment health wise.
Waiting for results and not knowing what exactly is going on and not knowing exactly when you will get them, is so hard. But to me the main thing is that you have gone and got checked out, you most definitely not wasting anyone's time. Well done- I know it is not easy when you are worrying about something and know something isn't right but not sure what it is. I understand that you just want the answers and need them asap.
With the 2 week referral at least you know that they are taking the symptoms seriously and that the investigations will be done and hopefully bring you some answers. There could be different reasons for the bleeding but whatever is causing it- it is better to get checked out.
I hope that you do not have to wait too much longer to be seen by the gynae oncologist and I hope that they can give you some reassurance.
In the meantime please do give the Support Line a call if you feel talking things through with someone would help. If there is anything else you need, please just ask and do let us know how you get on.
Jane
