I have had a ultra sound and been notified that I have a thickened endometrium. I am now awaiting a biopsy scan and trying to manage this. I have adenymosis and fibrioids and been suffering from heavy periods for years. I am concerned as I have already had breast cancer in the past so know what this entails and feel trumatised by this recent news.
Any advice
I had scans which showed a thickened womb lining twice, first time it was polyps which were removed and everything came back normal, the second time (this year) it was again polyps, one of which came back as having precancerous cells…I had a hysterectomy last month and histology was all normal, I apparently also had a fibroid. You don’t say why you had the ultrasound,or what age you are, I’m postmenopausal and had some bleeding which was why my investigations started..did they tell you the measurement? ...none of my polyps showed up on my scans though, only once I had hysteroscopies…my lining was 7.6mm in 2019 and 8.5mm in January of this year…
I’m not too sure about thickness when you are pre menopause, hopefully someone will come along soon who can give you better info than I can..but I hope you get seen soon and that it’s nothing too serious x
