Hi all

i wanted to share my good news in the hope that it gives some encouragement to others going through the cancer journey …

I am 60 now and was diagnosed with grade 3 stage 1A cancer of the uterus in September 2018 and had a hysterectomy and brachiotherapy. At the time I was 55 and overweight. It was hard to recover but slowly I’ve got back on track and recovered my health and energy levels.
The support I got from members of this online group was incredible and made a great difference to my ability to come to terms with the situation that we all face going through this treatment.
I hope my story helps a little.  A big thankyou to us all for helping each other !

  • Fantastic news  , i am so happy to hear your news and long may it continue. Thank you for sharing and yes i am sure it will help so many as they are diagnosed and going though treatment. Here’s to many years of no recurrence to you and i am glad your starting to feel better mentally too sometimes we forget this in our recovery.

  • Hello Star Sky

Well done and thanks so much for sharing, it gives much needed hope to members like myself, I was grade 3 stage 1a and it'll be 2 years my journey began this November , so I've some way to go before I hopefully can say I'm through the five years!

    Take care x

  • Thank you Star Sky, for sharing your good news. It gives hope to all of us who have this horrible disease.  It is about 18 months since I was diagnosed with Stage 3C, Grade 3, Serous Endometrial Cancer. At the time I thought this would be the end for me but I finished treatment end of last year and was told I was completely clear of cancer in February this year. I feel really well, apart from a dodgy arthritic hip which is another story, and about to have my first holiday abroad in 4 years, with my lovely partner. I will have follow ups for some time yet but I am so thankful to have come through it and am hopeful for the future.

  • That’s fantastic news Star Sky,it will be a year for me at Christmas. It’s so good to hear from ladies doing so well.xx

  • That's always great to hear! Thanks for sharing.
