In another thread was discussing a bit of anxiety about post op recovery. Today had a call from the hospital inviting me to take part in a research project. As it’s a university hospital I expect there’s a fair few ongoing projects.
This one is a study of recovery experiences with robot assisted surgery - so basically a bit of pre and post operative chats. They are sending info. As I come from a medical background- my Mum worked most of her life in senior hospital admin and I did a stint as a medical secretary, I am happy to take part.
The other thing was a letter from my surgeon about last Friday’s appointment. In it he mentioned that my scan had been ‘reassuring’ in terms of staging. I know that I might need further treatment but my hope is that the operation will sort things.
Hi Muse, interesting to be taking part in a research study - I’d so have been up for something like that as it would help to think of something positive and altruistic coming out of my experience. Encouraging to have that from the surgeon too!
