Hello everyone,
I've just received a letter this morning for my Pre-Assessment Anaesthetics appointment, due on Thursday 6th October. Can anyone tell me what is the usual expected time in between this and the actual operation? I have a two-night break booked for my daughter's birthday from Sunday 9th and am worried it will clash with the dates.
Hi Sabine, I had my pre-op assessment 5 weeks before my hysterectomy. It does vary from hospital to hospital.. I’d be very surprised if you received an op date for only 3 days after your pre op. but what I’d suggest is that you ask your CNS to pass through to your consultant the dates when you’re due to be away as that may reassure you.
Thanks for your reply, M, that's very helpful. I have not got a CNS yet. Maybe because I live in the Highlands? I will phone my consultant's secretary to mention it.
Hi Sabine, I’d suggest that when you phone your consultant’s secretary you ask also about contact details for your CNS as it will mean you have access to more support and an easy route to your consultant.
