FIRSTLY Hello to all,
I Had my hysteroscopy today. They said they took a biopsy and now the wait begins? Posting 6week wait!!
Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining I've been extremely lucky up until now. I had my transvinal scan and bloods within one week. Then due to bulky womb, thick lining and swollen ovary with growth on it was seen by the consultant within another week. Then this week I got go yjave the hysteroscopy so I feel very grateful as it's been a tick box each week. I have a strong history of cancer in the family. My periods are unbearable cramping, clotting, longer periods Then spotting in-between and other symptoms I had been telling myself it was the menopause!! I blame everything on that. I'm 45 just turned with 3 kids and just praying I might be lucky. I'm such a rubbish impatient waiter too. I'll need to start busing myself for the wait I think. It's so hard isn't it??
Sorry long post over! Just needed to get it out!
Hi Georgina123456789 and a warm welcome to our little corner of the Online Community. Here you'll find a lovely group of supportive ladies who have all been exactly where you find yourself now. Any possibility of cancer diagnosis brings all sorts of stress and fears and if anyone can hold your hand and reassure you we will as you’re not alone in this. We're all at the start, in the middle or the end of what can only be described as an emotional roller-coaster ride.
A thickened endometrium lining often sets alarm bells ringing after the ultrasound scan, thereafter its normally hysteroscopy with biopsies taken, CT scan and perhaps MRI scan. The Multi Discipline Team (MDT) consists of Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Oncologists, CNS and theatre staff then meet to discuss their findings and devise a treatment plan.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and how you came to find yourself here. Why not take a few moments to update your profile. It's always helpful for us to read if we want to ask you questions and you also won't end up repeating yourself. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) . You can amend or update it at any time. If you’re not sure what to write, just click on my username.
If you want to ask any of us any questions please come back and do so. There's always someone around and we can offer a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold or listen to a rant, we’re here for you.
It might also be a good idea to download this booklet Understanding Womb (Endometrial) Cancer. I found it really informative and helpful.

Thank you good luck for Tuesday. Will be thinking of you. The wait for biopsy results I'm told is 6/8 weeks and I'm just trying not to think about it now until I get the call. Easier said than done I know
Xxx
Hi Georgina
I'm also glad that things are moving quickly for you, six weeks seems a very long time to wait though, I was told 2 to 3 weeks after my hysteroscopy but it was the jubilee Bank Holiday and I ended up waiting 4 weeks. The waiting is definitely the worst part of our journeys, like you say keep yourself busy and hop on her if you need to chat, ask questions or rant, someone is always listening xx
My phone consultation is booked in for the 20th October so yes 6 almost 7weeks away. Although I'm having another scan this weekend too. It's a long time but can't be helped I guess. Thank you xx
Thank you. I’m in today for biopsy.
did they tell you how high your lining was. I had a thick lining in 2019 also 11mm. But after hysteroscopy they said all was fine and put mirena coil in. I had it taken out in May and 3 months later my womb lining is now 16mm

Hi Georgina, I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy, and I'm getting my follow up appointment 13 days later - this thursday. I haven't got a family history of endometrial cancer, but my biopsy has been labelled urgent. Has anyone spoken to you about fast tracking your biopsy? If not, perhaps they don't suspect cancer x
Been in for biopsy today. They said it would be 7/10 days for results by post and they took bloods for the cyst on ovary.
horrible waiting period
I'm 17mm thick and I've a growth and history in my family of it. I've been heavily needing last 10 days and non stop clotting it's horrible. X
I'm being fast tracked for suspected gynaecological cancer as they aren't sure what kind but I've been really bad for quite some time now. Clotting. Bleeding fir 3 weeks at a time some times. Worst cramps ever. Neutophenia. Etc etc. They said it's s long wait and that's that I guess. X
