Hi Ladies
Sorry not been around much lately. went out last Tuesday, felt a bit headachy Thursday, listless Friday and streaming cold on Saturday with razor blade sore throat. Put and 2 together and thought "No, it can't be just one blooming day out?" So took a test and came back positive! Reported it to 119 and my goodness, our marvellous NHS were swift to act. I had a nurse call me back within 30 minutes stating a doctor would call within 24 hours, which he did in less and it seemed I was in line for further NHS treatment!
Long story short, I'm off to the hospital to have a blood test, followed by a 30 minute infusion then an hour wait to look for side effects. Except for today, I'm not going out again ever!
Feeling a little listless and tired so I might rest up a bit for a dew days but having my Oncologists appointment tomorrow by phone.
Thanks for all of you looking after each other, particularly MarmiteFan59 for providing the thread link to the Chemotherapy tht someone asked for.
Distant hugs to all. Barb xx
Sorry to hear you have the dreaded covid Barb. I hope you can rest up and get over it without too many effects. And also hope you have a good, positive call tomorrow.
Sarah xx
Oh Barb,Covid! just what you didn’t need. Hopefully the infusion will help to reduce your symptoms and you soon recover. Take care xx
Get well soon Barb. I hope the infusion has really helped, after my recent dose of covid i have been left with some presents it seems and the Gp reckons i may have long covid. It’s just so unfair doing everything possible then you try to relax and bam! . Have plenty of rest and fluids and hopefully everything will be ok for you, all you can do is do everything you can to protect yourself.
sending gentle bear hugs

I hope you're feeling better soon MrsBJH and the infusion helps lessen symptoms for you.

Hello Lovely Ladies
Thank you all so much for your lovely messages, feeling much better, just like having had a bad head cold. Just waiting for 2 consecutive negative tests to show I'm all clear.
The infusion was to ensure I wouldn't end up in hospital. Only took 1/2 hour to go in and had to wait an hour for observations to be taken every 1/4 hr in case of reaction. Thankfully none! Are you sitting down it cost about £2,500! I'm surprised Securicor didn't deliver it!
After my chat with my Oncologist yesterday, he's listening to my concerns and putting me forward for a CT scan, he still doesn't think it's necessary but when I asked are the results of the CA125 100% infallible he remembered I was right last time about what I suspected was happening. I'll have another blood test next week (if ok to go out!) they'll look at red blood cell count, CA125 & eGFR If the numbers there are good I'm sure he'll want me to cancel the CT scan. Unless there's a significant change somewhere he won't want to put on chemo as early as this. (Probably only get 2 bites at that particular cherry)
Hugs to all, Barb xx
