Hi all,

Dr doesn't think there is anymore treatment I can go on at the moment so having a break, she is going to ask the mdt if they can think of anything and she is going to email the christie in Manchester to see if they can think of anything if not they will see me in 3 months for a scan and see how it's going.  Bit scared about that but she has said it could be that it will stay stable and not do anything. I’m not sure if this means I’m classed as incurable or not, I hope not. X

  • Hello Rach_E, sorry if my reply gets posted twice - I typed it out and it disappeared! I wanted to send you my good wishes and I hope that everything goes well for you now. If I remember correctly, you have an appointment about your elbow problem this week too, so I hope they can set your mind at rest and it is something which can be fixed easily. Chin up and good luck. LR.

  • Thank you for your reply and thank you for the well wishes.  Think it’s just a little scary just going to check ups, this is the first time since I was diagnosed that I have not been on something for it.  I assume when the doctor told me to enjoy life she means I can get back to normality.  I have the appointment for my arm today, the doctor yesterday said she had looked at it as she didn’t sound too worried about it but we shall see what gets said today. X

  • Hi Don't be scared about having a scan in 3 months time, be pleased they're continuing to monitor you! Enjoy the summer and try and put your worries behind you for the time being.

We mustn't let cancer define us. As you know, if you've read my profile I am now classed as incurable but I'm enjoying life and doing the "Carpe diem" bit. I'm not going to go through life wondering what's around each corner - I might get run over by a bus!

Biggest hugs your way, Barb xx

  • Think I’m just nervous I will get used to it.  They haven’t said I am incurable but they haven’t said I can be cured so not sure where I stand on that. X

  • Then to put your mind at rest one way or the other ask them. My copy letter from my Oncologist to my GP stated I was incurable but treatable so they won't withhold information from you.

  • Might pluck up the courage to ask one day, not sure I want to know at the moment lol.  I’m just going to enjoy the next few months then see what the scan shows in 3 months and take it from there, hopefully it will stay stable.  Fingers crossed I may have some hair for our wedding in October. X
