Evening all

Had my mri results the other day for the lump by my elbow and the gp said he doesn’t think there is anything suspicious and that there was a build up of fluid and the fat was protruding into the muscle and because of my history he wanted orthopaedics to have a look.  I got my appointment today and it has the doctors name and sarcoma.  I am now terrified this lump in my arm is cancer and my anxiety has gone off on one. X

  • It is unlikely to be cancer. Try and remain calm until you get a proper diagnosis. Almost everyone on these forums has had cancer and many of us are still here. There are lots of treatments, it’s not a death sentence

  • You've been through a lot the past few weeks . I'm not surprised you feel the way you do. How long do you have to wait for your appointment? I find these letters full of cryptic information you get very unhelpful. Sometimes you have no idea what you're even going into hospital for! Hope you manage to have a peaceful day and can do something nice to take your mind off it.

  • My appointment is on Thursday, I got a text from them saying appointment with trauma and orthopaedics and then the letter came yesterday and it says sarcoma clinic unless the doctor does both.  I know the type of womb cancer I have is carcinosarcoma but it’s not actually a sarcoma.  Everyone that has felt the lump says fatty lump and gp has said if it wasn’t for my history he would have left it but now I’m worried.  I have just got myself in an ok place with the cancer I have I don’t think I can do it all over again. • You've not got long to wait . The waiting and not knowing is so stressful but I wouldn't go on the appointment letter. I doubt it's very detailed or accurate and probably just an abbreviated code. Everything will become clear on Thurs. Let us know how you get on x
