Brachytherapy - one session

Hi Lolabo. I've not heard of a single session of Brachytherapy - 3 seems to be the norm as far as I know. If you're still worried ask to speak to your Oncologist.

Maybe what they found in cervix was very slight,  I wonder if the CNS can answer why one session?

I’ve challenged it already with 3 different people (cns, oncologist and radiologist) but they have all said that one treatment is sufficient.  I’m just curious really to see if anyone else has had just the one brachytherapy treatment.

Hi Maddy - hope you are ok?  I’m not quite finished yet - still got 3 external radiotheraphy, then the one brachytherapy.  Will you be having brachytherapy too?  Will be interesting to see how many sessions you get if you have it as we both had our ops at the same hospital xx

Hi Lolabo I had two sessions of brachy after external RT.  I wonder if the same radiation dosage is given but sometimes divided up into several sessions

Yes I have been told that I am to receive 3 Brachytherapy treatment after my chemo. I've heard some ladies have it halfway through chemo , my oncologist said it will be done after chemo and not before. X

I can't answer your question..but it sounds like you had a stressful holiday.
