I’ve had some good news (genetics testing)!

When my hysterectomy histology was done, as well as my cancer being regraded from stage 1a to stage 2 due to some cells being found on my cervix, they also found STICS in both my Fallopian tubes which are basically pre-cancerous lesions which go on to cause ovarian cancer. They were surprised to find them as they are very rare and advised genetic testing. I had already tested negative for Larch, and today I got the fantastic news that my BRCA test is also negative! Great news for me for myself (as a positive test would have meant bring offered a double mastectomy) but also because it means I don’t need to advise my adult children to have genetic testing (they’re unaware as I didn’t want to say anything till I knew my results). It’s also shocking though to get my head round the fact that, had I not been diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had my hysterectomy, I wouldn’t have known ovarian cancer was lurking there. Anyway, just wanted to share my good news!
