Post hysterectomy pain

Hi Zippy.  I certainly had pains in lots of unusual places when going to the loo after my hysterectomy, yes more in the front than ever before and sudden sharp pains!  I also had strange sort of muscle pain when emptying my bladder.   Everything has eased hugely now - I had my hysterectomy in November.
 I think all our innards have been moved about and generally pushed and pulled and they take a while to settle down into a new position.  
I think it would be a good idea to check with your CNS though - hopefully it will settle down soon for you x

I certainly found the first couple of times very uncomfortable. And I had taken Movical which softens the stools. It should get easier, but I would check with your CNS. xxxx

Hi ZippyG. I had the same sort of thing, actually shouting out which worried hubby no end. I was told the bowel can be moved a bit out of the way during the hysterectomy which until it settles back down can make emptying the bowels painful. In my own case it did go after a short time so keep with the paracetamol. Give your CNS a call for reassurance.

It’s the only pain I’m getting to be honest it does feel like muscle spasms I’m waiting on my nurse ringing back for some reassurance thank you xxxx

Wonder if it would help for you to hold your tummy to support while it's painful.  I do remember being advised to put my feet up on a stool while passing a motion. Maybe this would help. X

It's true.your knees need to be higher than hips.

Maddy, I think Jigsaw was thinking of the other meaning of “stool”

I can see that, I just laughed cos the situation meant stools were in short supply…geddit?! Lol
