Hi all,

Had my 4th lot of chemo yesterday actually got out early which is good as I’m normally there until 6 but was out before 4.  Feeling ok today and managed to not throw up as I normally do the early hours after treatment, took my anti sickness when I got home as well as bed time which seemed to work.  I suffer with pains in my legs and the nurse recommended tonic water as the quinine in it helps with pain and a weighted blanket she also said about rubbing epsom salt into my legs. Hopefully only two more to go, will have a scan after the 6 and see what the plan is.  Just these 2 lymph nodes in the pelvis that we are trying to deal with, pesky little things lol. X

  • Silly question, can we tip a dram or two of gin in the tonic? Interesting to know about the quinine and I'm looking into weighted blankets. As for epsom salts I'm bemused but I'll give then a go as well.

Funnily my nausea is 6 days after the treatment, not on the same day!

    Big hugs, Barb xx

  • I was thinking could add a bit of gin to the tonic which may help with the legs but possibly not the nausea lol.  The nurse said something about magnesium in the epsom salt helps.  I normally start  taking my anti sickness the day after treatment and take them for 5 days which helps but I have always had my treatment on Mondays and early hours Tuesday I’m normally sick so asked the nurse if I could start the anti sickness when I got home and she said yes and it seemed to help.
