Hi all,

I had my second chemo session yesterday went well, blood tests came back fine which I assume is good it was just a long day got there for 9.15 and finished 6.30.  Was a little sick last night but side effects shouldn’t start until tomorrow with the pains in the legs and possibly a little nausea but I have started my anti sickness tablets early as the nurses told me.  My next session is on valentines day (poor stacie will be spending it alone, best get her a good present to make up for it lol) then I go to clatterbridge to see my oncologist on 17th February and then I have my midway CT scan on 19th which I am dreading, my mind is going overtime about what it will show.  Hope you are doing well x

  • Wow Rach_E - that really was a long day!  I hope you get on Ok and the side effects are no worse than last time.  I am now on Day 12 of my first cycle, so just thinking of cropping my hair before it departs on its own - I just want to avoid seeing it all at the bottom of the shower.  Good luck

  • yes was long but they were quite busy and my cannula was playing up and kept stopping the machine was very annoying lol.  I shaved my hair last Friday after a week and a half of it shedding as it was coming out in bigger clumps and the bald patch on the side of my head was getting bigger.  I was getting quite upset as I would wake up with it matted and I think seeing more come out each day made me worse.  Since I have shaved it I have had a cry and now I am embracing it as it is part of the journey to hopefully getting somewhere near better.  Side effects not too bad up to now, felt a little nauseous early hours but slept it off and the pains up to now are not too bad. X

  • Hi

I'm finding the peripheral neuropathy really bad - I can hardly write and typing is awful. I'm collecting some meds for it tomorrow after I have my Ct. scan.

I agree, get rid of the hair, it's much less upsetting seeing it coming out in clumps - if it wasn't so cold I'd be proud to go baldie!

    Hugs, Barb xx

  • I have been lucky up to now I haven’t had that, last time it was pains in my legs, nausea and diarrhoea and tiredness.  I’m on my third day as was expecting my legs to be bad but not to sore today.  Good luck with your scan, I hope all goes well.  I have mine booked for 19th and I’m dreading it.
