I was diagnosed on 11/12/2020 and had a full hysterectomy with BSO on 20/01/2021. Since then I have been relatively well until the last few weeks.
I have developed a pain in my abdomen, almost like a period pain, a full ache that won’t go. Then today it got much worse really hurting and my stomach is distended. I have panicked and called my CNS who is going to speak to  the surgeon and get me in for an examination. Has anyone else had anything similar? Am I being ridiculous panicking like this?

  • Hi Hayleymac, I hope you might be feeling a bit better now, but you’ve done exactly the right thing in contacting your team. They will try to get you in as soon as possible to assess what is going on, if anything.  All of us here have panics when we feel anything is not quite right, it’s understandable after what we’ve been through. We are so lucky to be able to call our CNS whenever we feel the need. So I hope the pain eases soon and they get you sorted out asap. Good luck,

  • Hi Haleymac,

No as Jigsaw33 says you are doing the right thing in getting it checked out. I  can understand your panic we all feel the same with any unusual  or new symptoms. I myself called my CNS a few weeks ago as I  had a couple of spots of blood on the paper after going for a wee, she said she would speak to the consultant and see if I  needed to get it checked out. I  have now been for an appointment , the consultant  couldn't see anything suspicious but sent me for an MRI  with contrast which was last week, I'm  now back on the waiting game which I'm  nervous about.

I hope your pain is subsiding and you can get it checked out.
