Hi all
Had heart scan at Liverpool Royal this morning so now it’s the two week wait to see if they will operate or not. Nerves are through the roof but hopefully everything comes back ok and they will operate. X
Hi Rach_E That's what's this journey is all about waiting and waiting and waiting! This morning we've just done the pre-op assessment via phone for hubby's hip replacement, he's also been undergoing tests for bowel cancer so we hope that doesn't preclude everything going ahead. (I'm looking forward to the prospect of 4 days off not hearing him talking about his hip pain, then hopefully never again - the pain because of his hip LOL!)
The days will shoot by and fingers crossed all will be well!
Sending hugs, Barb xx

Rach_E I agree with MrsBJH thats the one of the worse things about this journey as they say, waiting, waiting and more waiting. The problem is is seems like it’s never ending of waiting going on. I hope those that the two weeks aren’t too long I know that sounds easier said then done. I do hope and i send all my best wishes and luck to you that everything will come back that they are able to operate and do everything possible to make you well.
i know I mentioned at some point i was waiting on a CT scan with contrast to view my whole renal system but they especially want to look at the left kidney after it showed up as an abnormality in my bladder scan. I have a date now its on the 1st November, boy it cant come soon enough because after that i then have to wait on results, again the waiting, waiting and more waiting.
The positive in all this is that your not alone and have wonderful supportive people around you which I know does make a huge difference. Fingers crossed for you .
sending gentle bear hugs

Thank you for your replies, I have just had a call and I'm going to see the anaesthetist on Tuesday. Even more anxious as to what they are going to say, I’m not very confident that they will give me the operation but I will be devastated if they say no. X
I was due to have my hysterectomy at the end of June and had to self isolate for two weeks. I went for my pre op assessment during this time. 4 days before the op I got a phone call from the hospital diabetes specialist nurse who told me that my blood sugars were too high and they were postponing the surgery. I was devastated. I had to get my numbers down for the next two weeks and they would rebook the surgery. I was also told that because I'd self isolated for two weeks I'd only have to do it for 4 days before the operation. I managed to get to an acceptable level and had my surgery on the 13th of July. After the op my surgeon came to see me and told me that there was no cancer after all. For the next 10 days I was so relieved that it had been a false alarm then the gynae nurse rang me to tell me that I had leiomyosarcoma and I was being referred to the Christie hospital in Manchester. I agree with everyone that the waiting is the worse thing. A week feels like a month. I went for my chest, abdo and pelvis CT scans this week and then wait two weeks to see the sarcoma consultant for the results. This will be my life every 3 months for the rest of my life. Take care, Deb
