Hi everyone

I haven't posted for a while but have been reading all your posts and keeping up to date with how you are all doing. I've had my pre op bloods done today and next Thurs 21st is the date of my operation. I'm having a full hysterectomy they are taking everything and I'm fine with that I just want to get it over with. After I've recovered I think I might plan a little break early next year and start planning and looking forward again.

Wishing everyone the best of luck with what they are going through.

  • Hi . the days will shoot by without you noticing them. Now's the time to cook meals for the freezer, clean out the kitchen cupboard, invest in a few pairs of Bridget Jones' if you haven't already. I'm sure I've sent this link before.. You might also find this link to what to take in my overnight bag useful.

Come back and let us know how it goes!

    Big hugs, Barb xx

    Hi Barb

Thanks for your reply, I have started putting a few bits in my bag, puzzle books, reading books, magazines, my sister got me some new knickers Bridget Jones style, I'm giving the house a thorough clean over next few days, just wondered what sort of nibbles do you recommend to take in to hospital.

My work colleagues got me some gifts, face masks, a puzzle book, lip moisturiser and some other bits. I'm really lucky and was touched by their kindness.

  • , sending best wishes for your op next week and a little time away after you have recovered will certainly be worth it and something to look forward too indeed.

  • Hi Louise,

sending lots of hugs to you. You will be taken the best of care of and be home before you know it. Look forward to planning your break away, and heal and rest well. Will be thinking of you, sending much love, Emm xx

  • Hi Louise, I'd suggest some soft nibbles as your throat may be a bit dry and sore after surgery from the tube they use for anaesthetic. I was in and out on the same day - had full works removed - but I seem to be the only person this has happened to on here. Wishing you well on 21st. Dx

  • My partner reminds me I kept asking for mints on the drive home from hospital - I was pretty woozy and very thirsty.

  • Hi . What lovely thoughtful work colleagues you have!. I took some of the little mixed fruit packs, not the ones with nuts, throat might be a little sore.

Something to make you smile - the dates come through for hubby's hip replacement (he's been such a P in the A for so long I'd considered a DIY job!) I digress, I gave him the list "What to take in your overnight bag" - the look on his face when he got to the sanitary towels was priceless!

Have a good weekend, hugs, Barb x

    Hi Barb

That's funny, hope it all goes smoothly for him. That's a good idea, bags of dried fruit, never thought of that, the only soft nibbles I could think of was cakes!!

I've been for my PCR test this morning and am now isolating until Thurs. Cant believe my op is this week.

Thanks for replying be in touch soon x

  • Hi Might not be about much tomorrow so just wanted to say we'll be thinking of you on Thursday! It'll be over before you know it!
