Hi Butterflies here, i am new to the group, i was diagnosed on the 11th March 2021,been diagnosed with endometrioid cancer after having the different test's done, after a week and a half the nurse at the clinic phoned and said that they need to see me and bring someone with me, i knew then that the results weren't good, when i got there they where really nice and the doctor was lovely, told me i had to have a hysterectomy and i would have my op within a month, i cannot fault them, i had a chest xray and an mri, just waiting for my date for my op, it was a shock when they told me and i am coping alright with it.

  • Hi  and welcome to our little corner of the Online Community. Here you'll find a lovely group of supportive ladies who have all been exactly where you are now. A possibility of cancer diagnosis brings all sorts of stress and fears and if anyone can hold your hand and reassure you we will. We're all at the start, in the middle or the end of what can only be described as a roller-coaster ride. The ride no-one wants to get on.

If you want to ask any of us any questions please come back and do so. There's always someone around and we can offer a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold or listen to a rant, we’re here for you.

When you have a minute, it would be helpful if you could pop something about your  journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. (It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself.) To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can update it at any time and if you're not sure what you should write have a quick look at mine by clicking on my username.

It might also be a good idea to download this booklet Understanding Womb (Endometrial) Cancer I found it invaluable in my journey.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear. It's free to call on 0808 808 00 00  8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look to see what is available by Clicking here .

There is also an Ask an Expert section, but you should allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers can be found on our Online Information and Support Section

Sending you welcoming hugs, B xx

    Hey butterfly's

My situation was identical to yours where I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in August and then full hysterectomy which took 3 days to recover in hospital and then brachetherapy and now only having regular checks.

You will go through all sorts of emotions during and after

For some reason my msg sent b4 I was ready but what I was going to say was even after your treatments you will have hit and miss moods but this forum is a life line of advice and I always see barbs name offering very good advice so please use this forum for anything even if you feel that it's a silly question.

I don't comment much on here but I always read and catch up with everyone's progress and good luck with your surgery and dont worry about it cos you will be fine so stay positive as much as you can.      Debbie

  • Hi debzi, it is really lovely to get a reply from you, i am quite emotional today  expecting a phone call any day to let me know a date for my op, i was only diagnosed 2 week's ago, they have been really quick with the test and results

Its def an emotional roller coaster so don't be shocked if you wake up feeling  kick arse and then half hour later your in floods of tears.

Just don't be hard on yourself if that happens and talk talk talk to family just so they know.

It is a very quick proccess from being diagnosed to ypur final treatment werher it's chemo or radio but keep us in the loop.

  • Hi Butterflys

Sorry you find yourself here. If I was you I would pack my bag ready, although with Covid tests you will get a bit of warning!

I was suddenly called 2 weeks earlier than the date they gave me. It was panic stations! I had no decent nightie, no supply of pads, no bag packed!!  (The operation  was later delayed, but that's another story)

Keep yourself busy. I found that the best way to cope. Good luck.xx

  • Thank you Debbie. Nice of you to say so Grinning. I'm a firm believer if I can help take any of the fear out of having cancer I will do. It was a bolt out of the blue to me when I was diagnosed and initially I went to bits. Now I'm fine but do have the odd day and think - did that really happen to me?

    Big hugs, Barb xxHugging

    Hi.

I was diagnosed last Tuesday, I thought I was going in for polyps to be removed,  I was on my own when they told me this awful news. I'm sorry you are in the same situation, it's scary isn't it, I have my mri on Friday so will hopefully know more then   xx

  • Hi and welcome too to our little corner of the community. As I said to Butterflys we've all been exactly where you are now so we know how scared you are to be here but rest assured we'll all hold your hand, support you and be there for you.

If you want to ask any more questions do so, someone will chip in with an answer. Don't worry if the question seems silly, we've all asked them. This is an emotional rollercoaster with highs and lows!

Hope your MRI goes well on Friday, let us know how it goes.

Big welcoming hugs, Barb xx Hugging
