Hi
I recently came across this research into alternatives to hysteroscopy for early testing of unexplained PM bleeding. The research suggests that a vaginal swab or urine sample could be used for initial tests rather than subjecting everyone to a hysteroscopy -which is often painful or needs a GA. More research needed but it seems like an interesting idea and a lot less invasive, although those of us on the forum would probably still need one if cancer is suspected I imagine.
xx
Very interesting, l was looking for a reason earlier why womb cancer is not routinely tested for like cervical cancer. Perhaps when this research is tested further there may be a way for that to happen.
Wow, I wonder if this will develop into a screening programme? Wouldn't that be great? Thank you for sharing this. I had 2 hysteroscopies, both under general anaesthetic, (which was fine by me). A test like this would be a lot less hassle and hopefully a lot quicker results.
