I finally got my results.  They took exactly six weeks from taking of biopsies to receiving my letter. It felt like an absolute eternity.  The good news is they say there is no gynaecological cancer.  But that is all I know.  Obviously there is/was "a bulge" on the top of my cervix and that is all I really know.  I had an MRI a week after my biopsies. But all I have received is this letter.  It almost feels like "well, you haven't got cancer - that's great news" (and it is) but I am in limbo. I have terrible pains, can't have sex. Is this just something I am going to have to put up with now? And although I am incredibly relieved I don't have cancer I feel as though I am/have wasted the NHS's time but I would like to know what is wrong with me..

  • Hi BB, great news that it's not cancer, what about giving your gp a call or making an appointment to discuss your next steps?  I'm not a medic but I would expect that they would have to help you relieve your symptoms and let you know what's happening.

    lots of love

  • Hi bb1972, great news to hear that you haven't got cancer.  I hope you will be able to speak to someone soon who can give you some information on what else might be going on and be able to help you.

    Hugs, Lesley xx

  • Hi bb,

    Good news, indeed.

I think I would ask my GP what it all means. When I was in my 20's they found something on my cervix, which they cauterised. I was too naïve to ask what it was or why!!! I'd certainly ask now!!!!   xxxxx
