Hi ladies, just a question for you, I'm coming up to 28 days post op on Monday and I'm still wearing my wonderful sexy surgical stockings, how long should I wear them?

    Hi Bosette

Haha I’m only day 9 and thinking the same! I was told 28 days by my nurse so I will do as I am told!

    So nice in this weather....

  • I was told 6 weeks, I got so sick of them I ordered some zip up ones from Amazon which were much easier to put on.

    6 weeks too ! xx

  • Hi , I was originally told four weeks or when I am mobile. I kept pretty mobile from day one even if just walking about the house then I extended it. At four weeks I felt great I can take them off I am more mobile then I went for a walk before I had a blood test and my left leg swelled, so then I got told to wear them for another two weeks and see how I go. It does vary what your told but ultimately its up to your body when its ready to lose the stockings.

  • Hello , I didn't know you could get zip up stockings, from amazon, amazing what you discover and were they as good as the normal compression stockings. My main thing was having a spare set so you could wash the stockings in between wearing.

  • My CNS was very impressed with the zip up ones, the only thing was they were a bit thick, so quite warm.

  • Hey bossette,

I had stockings and daily injections for six weeks, it does seem to vary from area to area though. You could check with your CNS, I was so excited when I could stop wearing them and I celebrated my last injection too.
