Hi all, went to hospital for my post brachetherapy appointment - wasn't looking forward to it but so glad I went. I saw the main consultant and obviously she knew I had issues. We spoke at length and the outcome was that she apologised and understood where I was coming from. Papermoon spoke so much sense and she was right the treatment I've had is in line with the guidelines I am low grade and low stage. The consultant said they don't know why I reoccured at 6 months and they were surprised we spoke about me being s gastric bypass person and I did have an issue with my immune system. They have taken blood tests to look at this. The best news is that I have made an excellent recovery from the brachy I have healed and have no major side affects. Also I am clear, she reiterated that my scan was clear and she can feel no lumps or bumps. I did mention the cough I have and she checked my neck lymphs and said everything feels ok. Next appointment 3 months with the radiologist. I felt much better just hoping that I keep in long term remission. Onwards and upwards. Hugs to you all who gave me support. Dawn xx
Chickplc, great news Dawn that things have been explained and you getting an apology. You sound so much better in yourself, I think having clarity really does help. Its not great when things occur that are seemly brushed aside as nothing, it really doesn't help your mind processing everything that's happened. I so pleased for you that tests have come back clear this really is wonderful news indeed, here's for long term remission

Hello Dawn, I’m delighted to hear that your appointment went so much better than you were anticipating and that everything is ok. Fabulous news! I’m doing a little happy dance for you I’m glad your consultant had understood your point of view and that you have both come to a new understanding. I know you have the ongoing immune issue to deal with but I hope you’ll be able to relax a little now and do the things you enjoy x
