Hi, i know i have seen a few posts recently about people worrying about their operation. I just wanted to share that my mum had a total keyhole hysterectomy last Tuesday and came home Wednesday evening. Apart from feeling a bit tired and slightly tender where she has been cut, she is feeling well and is pottering around at home like nothings happened. My dad is making sure that she is not lifting anything. Her surgeon said that all went well, it was uneventful and non complex surgery which was good to hear and that she will be able to drive two weeks after her surgery date.
From the date of my mums biopsy result to the date of her coming home from hospital was exactly four weeks! it all now feels like a blur and a bad dream and i am hoping that with her progress so far we can put this all behind us!
Just wanted to share as this time 4 weeks ago when this was all new to us i was so terrified and scared and i know others who have just been diagnosed and their families will feel the same, is a horrible time and the waiting for appointments and results is horrible.
i know that we need to wait for the final results once they have been examined but i am feeling hopeful that at grade 1, stage 1, the operation was all that was needed.
Thank you thats why I thought I would share as I know how scary the first few weeks are not knowing what’s going on and waiting , hopefully this will help someone in the same situation x x
