Stomach cramps

Hello and welcome , sorry you seem to be going round a merry go round and sorry about the bowel cancer you had 3 years ago too. You know everyone seems to have different symptoms and some that seem a sure thing turn out yo be something else but when you have gone through the menopause then bleeding is a sure sign something is wrong and its great that you have been sent for tests. I did have a fair bit of abdominal pain mostly on one side however I still have it two years (on the 10th) post op. My main symptoms was tiredness, weight loss and of course the abdominal cramping pain which felt like stabbing pain plus I was pre menopause being 37 at point of diagnosis but was very near my 38th about 10 days great birthday present! I also had irregular bleeding and blood clots. In the end I was stage 1a grade 2  and had only a total hysterectomy with ovaries and tubes removed as treatment and because I was boarder line they are holding off radiotherapy which was great.

The ladies here are really fantastic bunch very friendly, plus with different stages and treatment a wealth of knowledge too and a few virtual hugs to go around.

Thank you so much for your reply and hugs GBear - I have been in a Bowel cancer forum since my diagnosis and really do know how supportive people can be - and what a huge amount of knowledge and advice is available from folk in the same position. It does help knowing how many others are ‘in the same boat ‘ but getting on with things in such a positive and upbeat manner (though sometimes everyone has a wobble and needs support themselves!) That’s why a sought out a womb cancer group just to help me through this rotten time waiting....I keep fingers crossed it’s a false alarm! X

Oh yeah the waiting is definitely the worst, fingers crossed its a false alarm . 

Hello  A very warm welcome from me too, though I'm heartily sorry for the reasons you find yourself here. Having read your profile I can understand why you are feeling so anxious. Gentle hugs. 

Youre right - waiting really is a hard game to play. I've no real wisdom on this but I think what you say about trying to get on with life whilst you wait is a good way to go. My CNS gave me the sane advice when I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of womb cancer  3 years ago.(details in my profile). Looking back, she was saying, I think, that we can choose to wait passively or we can choose to wait actively We can't necessarily change what's happening to us at that moment but we can choose how we deal with it. I think acknowledging how we feel and then bringing our coping strategies in to play, doing the things we like to do (as far as is possible) and being with the people we care about go a long way to helping us keep some perspective on everything. That doesn't diminish the anguish and anxiety but it does allow us to see that the good things we have in our lives don't disappear overnight when we get a diagnosis or referral.  The waiting times are a very hard place to be sometimes and we all understand the toll it takes emotionally. We all "wobble" at times - we're human- but there's always support and encouragement  to be had here. 

There are lots of encouraging and inspiring stories on the forum. This is a safe space to wait and to ask questions as you need to. I hope your referral comes through quickly and that you get some answers soon. Sending you a gentle hug and lots of good wishes x

Good morning Fairycake - love your chosen name! Firstly let me say how much I appreciate you taking time to reply to me. Secondly I have read your profile and, although you have been through so much I’m delighted to see that things are looking good for you now...such a relief for you and loved ones! I’m planning to keep busy in the garden - and have visitors at the weekend so that will distract me and hopefully we will have some good laughs!
