morning ladies, I’m not sure if you remember but I was sent for testing at guys last August for lynch syndrome, I was told I would have the results by December, I heard nothing so I phoned in February to chase it up, I was told the results were not back but the secretary would chase them, I have just phoned again as it has now been nearly a year, the secretary said she is not allowed to discuss anything and that she will get the consultant to phone me, I said but are the results back? She said I’m not allowed to discuss anything, so I’m now assuming that my sample has been lost and it is his job to tell me this, what do you all think? Im trying not to think it’s bad news Cos the consultant is going to phone me, Cos surely if it was bad he would have been in touch, has anyone else had a similar problem on here, if so I would like to know because I don’t want to start over thinking , in my heart I think they are lost in the system or just lost full stop , why can’t things just be simple xx
Hi Lara lou,
In the past my daughter had a DVT, and was tested for a family gene that predisposes you to them. My other daughter was then tested and she has the same gene, so that means either my husband or I ,or both are the carriers. They have to inject themselves before long flights and while pregnant.
Before my operation I told the consultant, and I had a blood test to see if I was the carrier. The day before the operation they admitted to loosing the results, so another test was rushed through. After my operation they had still no results, so the consultant treated me as if I had the gene, and I had to do injections for 6 weeks instead of 4!!! I still don't know who has the gene!!
I'd like to think if your results were important you would have known by now, but who knows!! xxxxxx
Hi nanny anny thank you for replying, I just have no idea what is going on and feel frustrated that I keep chasing and still get no anserws xx
Hi Lara lou xx, its no wonder your frustrated about it all and concerned too, I hadn't realised its been so long since they took the sample for genetic testing. I am glad you chased it up and yes the secretary can't usually discuss results. Hopefully the consultant will get back soon and let you know either way, I got a letter and an appointment to discuss my results and they were clear which was a relief so hopefully its the same for you but I hate that they keep people waiting so much long but I suppose it depends on the lab etc.
Fingers crossed for you, sending you a gentle hug for answers soon
