Today it is 10 years since my womb cancer diagnoses. I can’t believe it has been that long. It was just before my 39th birthday, and I never thought i’d Make it to 50 in just a few weeks time.
I have had some hiccups along the way, which you can read in my profile. But for any newbies that have found yourself here, I hope you can take comfort from this post.
Hi chellesimo
Thank you, Chelle for sharing your story with us. It's very encouraging to read that you are 10years on from your original diagnosis of womb cancer, though I'm sorry to read about all the "hiccups" as you call them. It sounds like you've been through some very tough times over the last few years. Gentle hugs. I'm coming up to the third anniversary of my diagnosis and I'm 2yrs and 2minths on from ending treatment (another 3 to go to the magic 5yrs) . The stars aren't great for my type of womb cancer (you can see more on my profile) so it's incredibly encouraging to know that you are so far on. Sending you lots of love and best wishes for the future. May you always have lots of lovely people and good things in your journey to inspire you and encourage you xx
Fantastic news chellesimo, thank you so much for sharing this, it gives hope to all. Happy 50th Birthday for a few weeks time. Sending you a big hug
And more importantly some celebration fireworks

Hi chellesimo, I'm fairly new to this site, four weeks on from my total hysterectomy and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story and giving hope to all of us stranded in the waiting area for results and further treatment. Your post came at just the right time because I was feeling very sorry for myself having been unable to fight off an infection despite two lots of antibiotics and daily dressing changes. I have now been told I have to have specialist nursing because they are unsure what they next steps will be, having tried negative pressure compression and packing the wound to no avail..the cavity seems to have grown! So thank you for inspiring me and giving me some much needed courage to fight this setback and congratulations on reaching your ten year anniversary although I note that you have had a difficult journey along the way. Happy birthday to you as well. God bless.
Hi little lamb
Thats exactly why I posted, to give hope, so I am very happy that worked.
So sorry to hear about the problems you are having with infections. I have had similar before, not after my hysterectomy but with a previous c section. I do hope they work quickly on that for you as that can make you very miserable, and the antibiotics make you feel sick.
Wishing you all the very best x
Hi little lamb,
It took my wound six weeks to heal over and three or four rounds of antibiotics, I think I had two lots at once, I felt like it was never ending but I got there eventually. I'm glad that they are sending you to the nursing specialists, I'm sure they will have plenty ideas to try. In the end they put iodine strips over mine then some padding then a big padded waterproof (not very waterproof lol) dressing on top.
I had open surgery so have a scar from my belly button down.
i hope that they get you sorted out soon, lots of love

Thanks arla. I am feeling more positive this morning..As you say it seems never ending along with questions from concerned family members which I can't answer..if I knew what was happening in there and why I'd try and sort it out myself but it seems time will be the healer is not the answer they are expecting! It's nice that they do care and I'm very grateful but sometimes I want to bang my head against a brick wall because it's so frustrating. Anyway, now that's out of the system i will wait patiently for the nurse and see what they do today. Thanks again chelle for the post and to you both for the encouragement. God bless.xx
Hi ,
Maybe not quite the same, but when my husband had his larynx out 11 years ago I thought he would never heal up. They did say it was because of previous radiotherapy, but for months food 'leaked' through two holes onto his shirts. It very gradually healed up, but took 18 months after his operation to be completely right again. He had antibiotics for infections, and stents in his throat to help things heal.
I'm sure the nurses will sort you out. XXXXXX
