Hi. I'm 51 and had my ovaries removed March 2017 so straight into surgical menopause. I use Evorel HRT patches. I started bleeding 5 days ago and have pains just the same feeling as period pains. I went to my GP yesterday and seeing a consultant on Saturday morning. Has anyone else experienced similar?
Hello .
Welcome, though I'm sorry for the worries and concerns that have led you here. It sounds like your GP has been very proactive in getting you seen so quickly. I'm not a medic so it would be wrong to comment on whether the patches could have caused the bleed or whether there is something else going on. Hopefully your consultant will be able to put your mind at rest. S/he may decide to undertake further tests such as an ultrasound scan if your tummy, a transvaginal scan and maybe a hysteroscopy where they look inside with a tiny camera. These tests will help to rule things out as well as rule things in. I had post menopausal discharge (pinkish) which turned to spotting and a biopsy showed up a polyp containing cancer cells. That doesn't mean it'll be he same for you, it's just my experience.Other ladies undergo tests and find there are other causes. Either way, whatever comes of the consultation and any investigations, you've found a safe place to wait. Sending you some gentle hugs. Please let us know how you get on. If it's good news we will celebrate with you, if it's not we will be here to support you x
