Well my mum has just left Guys hospital, it’s only just gone into muscle wall stage 1b grade 3 I think? Scariest thing ever waiting all day to find out! I feel like crying with relief! Hysterectomy on 18th June and taking lymph nodes away to be sure.
She was having key hole but they asked her if she wanted to take part in a trial with open surgery for research so she might be in five days but it’s not definite yet. We are going to try and hire a beach hut for a few days to chill before op date if we can. Never been so anxious in my life waiting to find out results. X
I almost think that's the worst bit over with. At least now you know what you are up against.
My husband had a revolutionary laser operation when he had throat cancer. He was only the second person from our hospital to have it, but now they tell us its standard practice. Its nice to know we've helped others!!
Have a lovely few days rest. xxxxx
Hi , sounds like your Mums in great hands. I always feel the unknown is the hardest part, its ironic to feel relief knowing but you know what your up against. I am unsure of the exact new trail surgery they are wanting to do but I know others who have had open surgery were out much quicker then I expected, I hope that for your Mum. The beach hut holiday sounds very exciting and I hope you both have a wonderful time and good weather too. I think it does help you relax before surgery and I know how scary things are now but I really do hope you both enjoy yourselfs.

Yes very much so, I have been through some crazy stuff so far in life (I could write a book lol) but this is by far the scariest ! Thank you all so much for your support so far it has helped so much , this group is a blessing and so glad I found it. Thank you so much x
Hi
Good to hear your Mums results are better than you anticipated. You have a treatment plan now and somehow that helps to know what can be done. I had open surgery and was in 4 nights (I had a total hysterectomy with lymphnode sampling, plus they removed the omentum and did a peritoneal wash because of the type and grade of cancer I had) I recovered much better than I though. Enjoy some time away together if you can then plan for the op - pack a hospital bag, do some cleaning, fill the freezer with easy meals etc. Just take things a day at a time and take time to enjoy all the things you usually do. Hope all goes well on the 18th x
At least you know now what you are dealing with. I had stage 1a grade 3 so had everything out by keyhole then 3 sessions of brachytherapy
Hope the time passes quickly until the op. One day at a time and an opportunity to prepare
x
We are just all relieved so much, nothing else seems too much in life after the waiting for staging.
My mums ready to go already, bag packed by the door lol but they did say they might call her in before if they get an opportunity or free slot.
I was having extreme nightmares not just about my mum but about my girls too but they have stopped now. I’m a worrier I worry about everything so was hardest thing I’ve ever been through. X
I'm so glad mums got her results sunshine and you have a treatment plan now and you are fee!ing a bit happier about everything. The operation date will soon be here. You go and enjoy your beach hut break with your mum my lovely. Take care.xx
