Hi..just wanted to update everyone. I have finally received a date for my hysterectomy..Friday 3rd may. Thank you again everybody for all the advice you have given me. I can finally pack my hospital bag! Looking forward to hopefully getting rid of this unwanted passenger that invited itself in. X
Hi mum 999. Sorry for late reply..been a bit busy tying up loose ends at work. Mine all started with a bleed on 19/12 last year and I saw a consultant under the two week fast track on 30/12. I had a hysteroscopy but they couldn't get access into the womb so I had another done 19/1/19 under general anaesthetic then four week wait for results when they told me they were unable to get a clear picture of what was going on apart from there being a vast amount of narcrotic material in the tissues they had taken. Apparent!y they hadn't dug deep enough! Endless scan And two mri scan followed when they called me in to say that a suspicious mass had been spotted by the radiologist doing thedt MRI scan ( was three days after the scan) and they were going down surgery route and could I have a c. t scan done immediately as it was cancer. So that was about two weeks ago,I had my pre op assessment last Friday and am in 3/5 for the hysterectomy this friday. Overall it seems to have looked a long time but given bank holidays,Christmas Easter etc it has moved quickly or it seems that way having gone round three hospitals ( because they operate in a group round here for speed i think) with numerous scans and things. I must admit I almost lost it at the results from the second hysteroscopy where they hadn't got enough tissue and wanted to punch somebody for being incompetent because they were suggesting a third hysteroscopy under anaesthetic. I'm normally a calm person but managed to hold it together until after the appointment when everybody else was on the receiving end of my wrath ie family. I suggested that because everything is in a difficult place that they do a that because I don't need my womb now then they could chop it up to their hearts content but they were not keen as I'm quite a big person with a morbid bmi so high risk. I'm just looking forward to getting rid of this horrible profuse discharge the passenger is producing and the passenger itself. Hope you aren't waiting too much longer. Maybe ask what stage they are up to and when I'm can be expected. Good luck. God bless.
Sorry last bit doesn't make sense..I asked them for a hysterectomy and am suggesting you contact them to see when you can expect your op. I don't think it hurts to gee them up a bit sometimes. You aren't being impatient and God forbid but it could still be in somebody's in tray although I hope not as generally they are good with these things.
thanks you for your reply- goodness you have been through it. Things seem to be moving with me. Cant remember how much I've told you but basically I have had my biospies 27th March ( high grade sarcoma) had CT - showing at the moment no further spread, MDT has met and I am classed as complex as have had lots of major surgeries - bowel cancer , bladder ops etc. The complex MDT meet tomorrow to discuss me further, I have an MRI today. I have been in touch with my stoma nurse who is contacting my wonderful surgeon who did my stoma then parastomal hernia and he will input to the hospital team I will be under this time ( different hospital than normal as its complex so they tell me) I have been told that there wont just be the gynae surgeon doing my op but that the bowel specialist will be there too. I see the consultants on the 9th of May so I hope I get a date for op then. Hope things get a move on for you and I pray for a good outcome for you keep in touch xx
