I decided to start a thread for any arts and crafts you do and want to share. I know I post in others but I just wanted to share how much its helping to calm my mind and would definitly recommend everyone having a go. You don't have to be prefect just happy with your own achievement. Its Daloni that actually gave me this idea for a thread with her wonderful things she makes. So here is our very own girls.

My latest project...

I have done the shading but I think I may add some colour maybe watercolor not totally decided yet.

  • Your new jumper is absolutely beautiful, Daloni. I love the pattern on the yoke and the colours are fabulous. The fit is great too! You’ve certainly put your sofa days to good use. xx

  • Well done GBear. Your art work is getting better all the time. You obviously enjoy doing it too! x

  • Just a little pastel drawing using pastels and pastel pencils for some details. I am trying different ideas with them as I am thinking of doing a pastel picture for my Mum's Birthday, although not sure what to draw as yet?

  • If it's anything like me she will treasure it!!! My daughter painted a frog on a stone when she was about 7 years old. She gave it to me for a door stop, and it is still in the kitchen, and still used nearly 40 years later!!   xxxx

Lovely Gbear. I've always found pastels really hard to work with....never quite got the hang of them at all. You really seemed to understand them.

  • Hi , to be honest I found that rule number 1 with pastels is get a set that works for you, have good pigmentation and less is more sort of speak. A good quality pastel that you are comfortable with is key. I made a really bad decision at first getting a cheap set of pastels which I couldn't work with it was painful to use them and they broke far too easy, needed a lot of pastel to get the colour and they didn't blend very well. Lesson learnt that low cost is not necessarily cheaper.

Totally agree Gbear. I've found the same with watercolours, artist quality ones have so much better pigment and they last much longer because you use less.
