Uterine mass

After progressively heavier and more frequent bleeding (over 1year) I recently had an abdominal & TVUS. I was contacted by the GP on the same day and told my scan was abnormal and referred for a 2 week wait appt. I've attended this morning and been told that I have a mass and they can't tell where it originates from? They took a biopsy and want me to have an MRI scan, apparently this could take 8 weeks! Has anyone had a similar experience? I was led to believe that they don't think it's anything sinister but from what I've read it's often impossible  to accurately diagnose without removing it?

Did they refuse you because of your age?

    Refuse what ?

  • no, i’ll be 50 this year, hence why i asked for a hysterectomy as I don’t want any more children. I was told that the health commissioning group would question why they’d carried out a hysterectomy when they don’t think its necessary as they suspect its benign. so basically seems to be to do with cost of the operation

I have my internal ultrasound on Friday . I'll get results and gynae will tell me way forward.

They keep telling me not to worry.. . But i can't help it.

I'm scared it's serious and i don't want to die or not have kids.

I know it's hard but think positive, and try not to screw yourself into the ground. Stay away from Mr Google . I hope they give you some answers soon....the pre knowing is just the worst! I've just been there! But the best advice I can give you is don't shut your friends and family out, you need there support right now x xxxx

    Big hugs

I can totally see where your coming from especially if they are using the word suspect! Is there no way they can biopsy?

3 weeks ago i did my ultrasound as i saw a bit of blood with my discharge

I was ovulating so gynae said its normal but since i worry alot to do ultrasound  I went and they saw a mass.

Now since my lining was thick they could not determine what it is  So bad to wait for my period .. Im on day 4...so this Friday I'll be day 6...and hopefully lining is normal

Ultrasound will be re done and they will see things clearer

They keep saying not to worry but how can u not

I mean i am not in pain .. Im not bleeding... My period is regular.

Smear test in October was normal. Previous ultrasound in 2017 was ok too.

I am so scared it's going to be bad news  I'm dreading it

  • They won’t do a biopsy, something to do with the blood supply to it (i.e risk of heavy blood loss). so I’m stuck with it and hoping for the best. I’m not really sure what else I can do as I can’t afford private treatment

I went private as couldn't wait. But Friday I'm going hospital.

Then in d eve will see my gynae to discuss further..

    All depends on scan.

They might do biopsy and remove it. And then have to wait for results of that.

It is a never ending nightmare.

In 48 hours I'll knw more..
