I thought that it would good for us to have a regular place to share the positive things, however small, in our lives. Whenever you all share positive tales, I know that I for one feel better, so I thought it might benefit others too. So, if you need a little reminder that joy can be found even on the darkest days, this is the place.
The rule is simply to list three good things that you have experienced, or will experience, today. The idea is to focus on the present rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on negative thoughts. If you are struggling through something hard remembering what you have that is good can really support you. Everyone is different, and there is no wrong answer, and nothing too insignificant to mention. Everything positive counts!
Thanks Fairycake. I think you would be surprised what you can do. I've been painting, drawing etc since I was a child. When I retired two years ago the staff, parents and pupils gave me fantastic materials and watercolour lessons. I've used oils up until then so it was a new set of skills. I find it very frustrating and much more difficult than oils but I'm really enjoying learni g. I am also enjoying having time to visit galleries. I love art. Pottery is my main thing though. Xx
Hi - I have a friend who is an artist and she runs little classes in different things (she has a Facebook page called Freerange Art Farm) where I saw an art journal she did whilst on holiday in Italy. She clipped a little box of watercolours, sketched, then coloured. I thought, great! So when I was on holiday up in the Highlands, and then more recently Vancouver Island to see my family, I did a bit of it. It is really fun! And provides good memories too. I did my mum sitting in her recliner watching TV, and my sister's dog lying on the floor. You need to sketch quickly!! I'll need to get back into it. The more you practice the better you'll get (hopefully, haha!)

1. May seem strange --- I get the bed to myself tonight. Husband is overnight in Ireland. So no loud awful snoring to keep me awake. And as I'm not sleeping very well this week because of the pain from adhesive capsulitis, I can drift off under the influence of codeine and oramorph knowing he won't wake me up. The steroids I get on Chemo Day are most welcome as they have the side effect of easing said AC for about 10 days.
2. As I look out my study window the sun (rare thing here in Manchester -- usually raining) is shining through the autumn leaves at the bottom of the garden.
3. The smell of the lemon/lime reed diffuser when I sit at my computer. Very mentally invigorating.
Good morning everyone
Just had the wonderful news that my friend’s daughter’s cystic fibrosis test has come back negative. She had to have this as there was some suspicion of CF on her 20 week scan. As she is not a carrier the baby can’t have it.
I had a lovely day yesterday catching up with friends
And I’m sitting here now enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise.
Hope you all find something to enjoy today!
This is fantastic news :)

Lovely news. What a relief that must have beem. Xx
I think it's time to revive this thread, as I really could do with a spot of positivity this January, I don't know about everyone else. This thread is open to anyone from any group in the community. In case you aren't familiar with how it works I will recap:
List three good things that are happening today, or in the moment, and say why they are good. It can be as small as a good cup of tea, or getting a hug, reading something that made you smile or enjoying some chocolate. Nothing is wrong. Everything that you think is good is correct. If you have good news this is the place to come. If you have had bad news and want some help finding the good in your day, this is the place to come. You don't have to share, you may find the benefit in reading other people's good things.
So.
Mine: I have a cat sat on my foot. After lunch I am going to go for a walk for some fresh air. I am working on a new website and it feels good to create something.
Hi kalliope,
1. Just found I'm getting a tax refund. Enough to be 30% of the holiday cost.
2. A friend supported me over how miserable my husband made me feel this morning with a very thoughtless remark "but your last chemo was over a week ago. You should be feeling better now"!!!!!!
3. A cup of coffee actually tasted like coffee.
What a lovely idea :
1. It's a beautiful sunny day and I have walked my dog twice (OK, shorter walks than bc, but walks just him and me.
2. 4 lovely cards and a book (who from?) in the post. People really do care.
3. Big stock up in the supermarket prior to first chemo on Friday. Bought just what I wanted and hang the expense. What a difference a fortnight makes!
Hugs to you all.
