High grade endometrial cancer

I’m sorry you’re having to wait and that it’s upsetting for you. I’ve not heard of a 62 day policy. My hospital said they aimed for 6-8 weeks from diagnosis to op and mine was about 7 weeks. You could always try contacting PALS 

Yes it's a national thing posters up in hospitals, promoting the initiative, I think all we want is a date isn't it? To be kept in the loop and not left to cope with no information at all, I was diagnosed on July 2nd.

i think we can all agree that the waiting is the worst part of this awful journey.... Who did you see when you signed the paperwork? If like me it was the surgeon who performed the op, I would go back to him/her via the secretary and ask them.  It's not acceptable to be told by the CNS that she can't help you, at the very least she could maybe look into it for you.

hopefully you won't have much longer before you are given a date...

I am so sorry that you have been waiting and it is understandable that you are worried. 

I know for me there was the time from when I got the actual diagnosis to having the date for surgery where I didn't really know what was going on and felt kept in the dark. In the end I contacted my GP and asked if they could help. They were able to chase things up for me and got me an appointment with the consultant the following day (a Friday) and I had surgery on the Monday. 

The 62 days NHS cancer target is an aim for people to start treatment within 62 days of referral. From my understanding the operational target is currently for 85% of people to reach this- with an interim target of 75%-so there is still a fair way to go. 

My suggestion would be to go back to your GP as the original person who referred you and ask for any updates and whether they can contact hospital directly (mine did through an internal line) and ask about the waiting list and the current expected length of time. I also wonder whether it may be worth asking if you would be seen quicker as it has been diagnosed as higher grade. You could also query as to whether there is any cancellation list or whether there is another hospital/consultant who would be able to help at an earlier date. I would also stress any symptoms that have developed or changed. 

If no luck via GP then you could consider contacting PALS

What I found personally was that it wasn't until I saw the consultant myself that I had anything firm- until then I did feel a bit like it was being passed from one person to another and there didn't seem much communication. 

I hope that you can get a date for surgery very soon- I know it is not nice waiting.

I have already seen the consultant over two weeks ago, I emailed pals today and I will phone my GP tomorrow, I don't like looking pushy but I am so scared as it is high grade, I feel like something has been overlooked, thank you for the advice I am straight on it in the morning.

This just gets better, been told today by the hospital that my grade 3 endometrial cancer is ok to wait until October at the earliest as they only have one surgeon and one visiting surgeon who does alternate weeks, I got very upset on the phone and feel like giving up, I was diagnosed 2nd July agreed to surgery 21st July what am I supposed to do? Wait for it to spread as the consultant said it was fast growing. 

Oh no, have you spoken to your GP? I would ask whether potential to go to another hospital, although appreciate that may not be as convenient or lessen the time…worth asking though?

Yes I am waiting for a call back from my GP, I have submitted a complaint to PALS at the hospital too, I am so upset. Expected more from them than this.
