Hello
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that you have had some unusual bleeding whilst taking HRT.
Has the ultrasound been done recently? Whether or not an endometrial thickness of 5mm is considered reassuring or concerning would depend on different factors- age, whether you are post menopausal, the type of HRT you are taking and how you are taking it (pills, cream, patches etc) Also how long you have been on the HRT can be important.
Have you spoken to your doctor about the increase in dose?
I would recommend that you go back to your GP and say that you are still having abnormal bleeding that is persistent and that you have some lower back pain and also are experiencing a change in toilet habits. This needs checking out. I would suggest asking whether it would be a good idea to review your HRT regime, whether any further testing might be appropriate- eg a hysteroscopy/biopsy. Perhaps also to ask for routine bloods to be done.
If you would like to talk it through first, please do give the Support Line a call. They are there from 8am-8pm daily.
Hopefully you will get some reassurance soon, but it is always better to get checked.
Jane
Thank you so much for the note.
im 48, been in perimenopause for 2 years alongside HRT the same duration. Im on daily continuous progesterone as my period was only 1-2 days which led to no period for 16 wks until I started to bleed again. My progesterone was increased 2 wks ago in an attempt to stop the bleeding but it hasn’t work (maybe it needs more time?)
im going to ring the drs again and chat it out
thanks again Dan
