Wow girls! The hospital just called and they have a cancellation for Friday!! Pre op Wednesday,  I'm a bit shell shocked but pleased as hopefully I'll be recovered for my granddaughter's wedding! I better get my skates on now, so much to organise and to sort for my rescue girl Luna too

You've all been so much help and I'm now getting ready to go to the shops for snacks etc lol

  • You’ve been given more notice than I got! (Told I needed op Friday am, can I come back Friday pm for pre op, as they have cancellation on Monday!)

Really good news, not enough time to think too much about it, mad couple of days to prepare, and time to recover ahead of the wedding!

wishing you all the best for this week xx

  • Oh my that is so fast, but as you say, less time to fret,  I had big plans  get freezer all meal ready, house cleaned etc ha ha! But I'm very glad I've only got a few days to go now. Thank you so much Waidh, I appreciate that !

  • Oh that’s fab! Less time to worry and all being well this time next week you’ll be back home, and well on the way to recovery!

  • Amazing news Annousks you will have plenty of time to recover before the wedding. You won’t have time to worry about the op you will be so busy organising things. Sending hugs and let us know how you are doing.

  • Aw thank you so much, that's appreciated.  I've to be in for 7am Friday so it's early but it's better because as you say, I won't have time to worry. I'll keep you posted as soon as I possibly can. Hope you have a nice day

  • That's great news, get it over and done and have the wedding to look forward to

  • Hi Annouska, thinking of you today as you prepare for tomorrow. I can remember having my main meal at lunchtime the day before, and then just having fruit and yogurt in the evening - with my goal being to have had a poo before bedtime! I set my alarm for 5.00am, had a bath at 5.30am, the taxi came for me at 6.30am and I “checked in” at 7.30am. So glad I had my iPad with me as it was a long morning - didn’t walk down to theatre till midday! I even posted to this group from the day ward pre op, complete with a photo of my Norah Batty stockings! (A tip - ask for a spare pair to take home with you as it means you can wash one pair and wear the other!) Please do let us know how you get on!

  • Aw thank you MarmiteFan59 and for the info, it really helps to know these things especially the poo, I hadn't given that a thought! I'm away to make main meal now! Amd the stovkings too! I'll keep you all posted as soon as I'm able to

  • Good luck tomorrow we will all be thinking of you x

  • Thank you so much everyone x
