Hi my name is Kim, I am 61, received a cancer diagnosis following a biopsy at hospital, the only symptom I had was blood stained discharge. I have had my CT scan and have an MRI tomorrow then will wait to hear from the team who I have been referred to. It's all very scary, I have tried to be positive and push it to one side until we have the info from the scans to see if it has spread etc. still in shock I think from the diagnosis.
Hi Kimi33
Welcome to the group, and sorry to hear your news. Good to hear you’re trying to be positive, but appreciate it’s not easy. I didn’t know whether I was coming or going when I was going through the tests and scans. Do you know when your MDT (multi disciplinary team) meet, as they will want to review CT and MRI scan before letting you know the results. At my hospital they met on. Friday morning and had clinic appts from mid morning on Fridays to let people know.
good luck with the MRI tomorrow xx
I think it is a Monday or Tuesday, that they meet, my local hospital didn't biopsy and told me the diagnosis but they are transferring me to a hospital a little further away for treatment as they specialise in the surgery there. Just feel very "icky" about having this inside me and want it gone. I am surprised at how calm I am at the moment, I had a serious illness many years ago and spent two weeks on life support so maybe that's why I feel this way I am not sure. Thank you for the info on the MDT meetings, I hope it is pretty soon x
