Hi Newbie here, I have had PCOS for years which kept flaring up, earlier last year I had an ultrasound where there found my lining was 24mm, as I’m 38 they put me on a waiting list earlier this year. I had a biopsy and I found out I had endometrial hyperplasia atypia so I opted for a full hysterectomy. I went for the op through a different surgeon who said he wasn’t happy with my notes so I had to go back on the list. Luckily the said surgeon referred me back to my consultant who then went to the MDT and found out I had endometrial Cancer stage 1A. I have now luckily had a full hysterectomy with ovaries removed. I’m waiting on my histology report to see if there is any further treatment required. However I don’t know what but I feel a fraud as the cancer has now been removed has anyone else felt like this?
You are definitely not a fraud. Your cancer was identified early and surgically removed which is the best course of action and means that the tumour can be analysed to see if you need any further treatment. My Histology identified that I was at high risk of recurrence so I did need further treatment. You might or you might not but you are in the best position to get the intervention you need if it is necessary. I can identify with how you are feeling, and I am sure others on the forum will as well. Having cancer confirmed once it had been removed left me feeling like did I really ever have it at all as I never felt ill. But I did and so did you. Not frauds at all and lucky to catch it at an early stage when treatment surgical or adjuvant has the best chance of success. Hopefully you dont need further treatment. Fingers crossed for you.
Thank you for your kind words, I think I just feel a little lost at the minute and it’s the waiting x
The waiting is the hardest bit by far. Once you know whats happening it feels more manageable. Be kind to yourself.
