Hi guys, hope you all good tonight. I had my hysteroscopy 7th May and they put the Mirena coil in, diagnosed with endometrial cancer, had my MRI and CT scan last week so waiting on a treatment plan. Tonight I'm bleeding again, has anyone had this too, I felt this afternoon that I had slight period type pains but I'm 72 so a bit lost
Hi Annouusks
It may be down to the mirena coil acting on the womb lining.
If it is slight bleeding and slight pain then I would think it would be ok just to contact your doctor in am with any concerns.
if however you got any severe pain, passed clots or were soaking through a pad within an hour then this would be a good reason to call NHS111. This is the advice given to me by my CNS.
Hopefully it will settle for you and you will get your treatment plan through soon.
Jane
Hi, you've not had the coil in for that long and it's supposed to thin-out the womb lining, so bleeding is pretty standard in the first few months. Ditto for mild period-type pains. I have had a coil in now for over 18 months and bled on and off for about 4 months when it was first fitted.
Hope you get your plan sorted soon, which will make you feel more informed. Good wishes!
Annousks, did you try the suggestion of asking the gynae consultant’s secretary to put you in contact with the CNS team?
MarmiteFan oh goodness I'd completely forgotten, my head is all over the place, thank you I'll try today
