Hi all,
I have been diagnoised with cancerous polyps, they were removed, was told i.need a hysterectomy but had to have a MRI to check for more cancer. I had a MRI last friday, got a call today from hospitl to be told they would like to see me in clinic again to discuss the results, he did say thats its not urgent and he made an appointment for 3 weeks time, he said he couldnt tell me the results. Im
concerned about the appointment and what they may say they found. If my MRI was normal would they still need to see me or would they say the results over the phone. Three weeks is a lifetime, has this happened to anyone else. So stressful.

I was fortunate in that I got my staging MRI results only three days later, BUT I did need to have an in person appointment to get the results, I wasn’t told over the phone. My results were a predicted grade 1 stage 1a.
Im presuming the appointment will be to give me the grade...im sure if they had seen something my appointment woukd have been sooner.
The waiting is the hardest.
For me the appointment was to confirm the predicted stage (predicted grade was already known from the histology from my removed polyp and biopsy from the hysteroscopy) and for me to meet my surgeon and for him to explain the hysterectomy and the process.
Ok, i have not had mine graded as such, was just told that the poylps came back cancerous and i will need a hysterectomy, so when i go i will ask all the relevet questions as when 1st told i was in shock and couldnt think, its only when i came out that i thought of questions, i am going to write them down so i dont forget lol.
Hi Tigergirl
My results were given over the phone as I preferred this and meant I didn't have to wait for an appointment. This was prearranged.
As you have already been told that you need a hysterectomy I would imagine that they are doing the face to face appointment to both go through the MRI results and to discuss a treatment plan- ie; go through the hysterectomy/consents etc. As it has not been put as an urgent appointment, it sounds somewhat reassuring If something unexpected had cropped up I would have expected a quicker appointment.
Good Luck
Jane
