Well, thought i would drop in an update. I have now had Grade 1 Stage 1a endometrial cancer confirmed. So i am going to be scheduled for a full hysterectomy (ovaries + cervix as well). The consultant is 95% confident that once this is done I won't need any further treatments unless they find something on the post surgery biopsy.
As i had a mini stroke a few years ago and I am a plus size lady, I have got to have an appointment with the anaesthetist team and I will probably have to inject anti clotting drugs for a few weeks before the op. This app is next Monday. I'm hoping the op will follow soon after. They have said there is a chance that I may end up having an open surgery not keyhole as I have a midline scar from a previous surgery and they don't know how the scar tissue will be.
Oddly I have just received another appt for another US at the start of March which I am hoping is a post -op check as I can't think why they would want another US before the op.......
Just hoping this doesn't delay things as I want it sorting out now.

Had the review with the anaesthetist yesterday and everything is good to proceed. He talked through pain management options and put my mind at rest.
He has recommended a spinal block which should take me thru the 1st 24 hours post surgery and due to my past history of mini stroke he has requested a High Dependency bed for me (essentially an ICU bed with extra monitoring).
So I have started planning - i have downloaded a tv series on Netflix to keep ne entertained and have set up home so I have everything I need. Hubby is ready to roll with the care and cooking. Now I just want it over.
Glad you had a good chat with anesthetist, I felt so much calmer once I had spoken to mine. Do you have a date for op yet?
Great - not long now? Have you seen our thread for suggestion for things to pack?

I found that it helped me to have that to focus on as it felt like something over which I could have some control! Was nice to treat myself to new slippers (non slip) and dressing gown too.
The ideas for what to take was really useful. I have now ordered a loose fitting dress for coming home and have just added a pack of mint imperials (i recall doing the same when I had an op for ovarian cysts).
